Jimmie Johnson Wins Despite Tire Problems

Jimmie Johnson had another victory at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. He won just in time because one of his tires decided to explode near the finish line. Over the weekend NASCAR was miffed when one of its best events was derailed due to tire problems.

Goodyear’s product was unable to withstand driving 10 or more laps at a time -which caused chaos during the Brickyard 400. The whole thing ended when Johnson passed Carl Edwards during the end of a seven lap run to finish.

Alonso Denies Talking With Ferrari

Fernando Alonso said that the rumors that he has signed a contract to race for Ferrari in 2010 are unfounded and not true. Many people believed the rumors because Kimi Raikkonen stated that he might be leaving F1 at the end of 2009. Ferrari needs to find a new star driver and quick.

Scott Dixon Takes Home Win In 92nd Indy 500

Scott Dixon from New Zealand finished first at the 92nd Indianapolis 500 at 1.75 seconds ahead of Vitor Meira. Yet, even though Dixon took the win many fans kept their concentration on Danica Patrick who worked hard to try to make history as the first woman winner at the Brickyard.

Ferrari Shows Off During Turkish Grand Prix

The Turkish Grand Prix was definitely one for the books and the entire honor goes to Ferrari. A week earlier Ferrari showed off in the Spanish Grand Prix when they finished one-two and was dominating the podium stand. Felipe Massa had definitley showed some improvement over the last three races.

Formula One Changes Rules For 2009 Season

Those of you who are looking for a little more exciting during the 2009 Formula One season will be happy to know that you’re wish may come true; although not necessarily in the way that you were hoping. The FIA told Formula One that they only way drivers can compete is if they are racing in hybrids. This new rule will be put into effect in order to comply with the standards that have been set up by the Kinetic Energy Recovery System.

Those who follow the McLaren F1 team are all too familiar with the name – Ron Dennis. He has been the team’s faithful manager since the 1980’s and has done a successful job of leading them to many victories. Yet, it seems lately that he has been losing his grip on things and Mercedes-Benz has taken notice of this as well. According to recent rumors Dennis is being fired because of the way that he handled the spy scandal and because he was unsuccessful at obtaining the championship.

He has become a well known and renowned former driver for the NASCAR Winston Cup Series and has won the NASCAR Championship seven times. The only other person to accomplish this has been Dale Earnhardt.
